Position: Mechanical Engineer – Extrusion Equipment
Location: Hartlepool, Durham
- Day Shift: £16/hour
- Night Shift: £17/hour
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in working with extrusion equipment, specifically in changing screws and performing preventative maintenance. This role offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team in Hartlepool, Durham and contribute to the successful operation of our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on extrusion equipment, focusing on screw changes and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize production interruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Solid experience working with extrusion equipment, specifically in changing screws and performing preventative maintenance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work either day shifts (6:00-18:00) or night shifts (18:00-6:00) from Monday to Friday.
- Valid certifications or licenses related to mechanical engineering are a plus.
